Well Houses

Local field stone was used for the support columns in the well house at ReacreationLake, east of Butler, Missouri. It was built about 1935.  Stone was used as found in the ground, with little stone cutting actually done.

This water trough was carved by Daniel McConnell, Butler, Missouri in the early 1900’s.  It is of native sandstone. It was donated by his descendants to the BatesCountyMuseum, Butler
